Haru Sushi & Grill

Some of the best sushi this side of Calgary. It's hard to find a decently priced yet still fresh Japanese restaurant that does fresh fish well. Their potato korroke are some of the best I've had in Calgary and the fish is always fresh and delicious. Edit- I took a break from here for a while cos their quality had gone down for a bit. Went back for takeout yesterday for the first time in months and happy to report their food is fresh and good quality again! Ordered salmon sashimi, salmon Maki, assorted tempura and beef udon noodle soup. So good and fresh!

Update2: I've now order from here four times, each time has been as good as the last all of the platters and appys have been top notch. Highly recommended this establishment. Update: ordered some more sushi and it was so much more flavorful then others in the area. I upgraded my review to 5/5 I really like it and could see this being my main stay for sushi at dinner time. Others in the area still have cheaper lunch time options but again this is quality over mass production. I ordered delivery and it took a little while but the food quality and presentation was great!! The only comment I have is that the sushi cuts of fish were very very skinny like razor thin. The rolls however were excellent. I'd order again.

December 2024 Haru sushi is a very nice place to go for sushi. For dinner, my friend and I went as soon as it opened and shortly after the restaurant filled up fast. There's lots of space and big tables. It's clean and has friendly staff. The sushi was very yummy! They offer perfect size portions, so you are not overly full.... unless you happen to order lots. The prices are fair, and I would come back again to Haru sushi.

This is our go-to 'secret' sushi place! We've been eating at Haru in Mackenzie Towne for many years, and have yet to have a bad experience. Super-friendly staff, very accommodating and fast. Whether we're eating-in or taking-out, the food has always been amazing. Highly recommended, and great location if you live SE Calgary - easy to find and get in/out of.

Took my niece for our birthdays as she loves Sushi and we were not disappointed. So fresh, quick and exciting to try new dishes!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in Calgary offering a wide selection of fresh sushi and sashimi with also friendly staff. We ordered Deluxe sashimi and tasted the fresh flavor of the thick sashimi. Saba (Mackerel) and Hamachi tasted greatly fresh and flavor. My little daughter and I enjoyed Saba. The taste of the rich udon soup was by far the best.

Love the salmon tataki - it has this peanutty sauce on it. The tuna one is good too with the more traditional sauce. Decent sashimi and rolls. The calamari was only okay.
